Susanne is a Post Doc in the HIGHWAVE project, located at the ENS Paris-Saclay (Centre Borelli).
She received both her Masters and PhD from the University of Oslo (Norway), at the Department of Mathematics. Susanne has worked in different fields of applied mathematics, ranging from biomedicine to novelties in Finite Element analysis, ice loads on offshore structures and encoding and decoding of music. During her PhD, the field of ocean waves has caught Susanne’s interest due to the combination of measurements, numerical models and physical theories.
Her PhD topic was on the interpretation of radar images as well as extreme wave statistics in crossing and following seas.
Susanne received the Minerva stipend from the Max Planck institute for a PostDoc position at the Tel Aviv University. The focus there was on wave current interaction in marine X-band radars and high frequency (HF) radars.
Since August 2021, Susanne is part of the HIGHWAVE team, with the main focus on the interpretation of radar measurements.
